The project: Imagine mystery dinner theater without the spaghetti and taking place in a nightclub in New York City. With a cast of characters who includes a high maintenance publicist, her stylist lackies, bad boy promoters and hysterical European models .
We will be going into some of New York's most exciting nightclubs and performing a cutting edge style of theater. We gain accesses to these venues (in essence making them our acting playgrounds) because of the number of customers we bring to them. This theater company is formed around people who enjoy performing and are able to draw a crowd. Promoter experience preferred but not required. This is an extremely collaborative process.
The cast: aspiring or established performers with a strong desire to gain exposure in New York City. Those who like working on nontraditional theater where you don't have to perform on a stage but you are very interactive. Performers who have been told you are super outgoing. Who are talented improviser and can think on their feet quickly. They must have style, presence and inspire those around you to have fun. They must be dependable, show up on time and have a positive attitude. They will have promoter responsibilities as well and be responsible to invite large groups like friends, family, colleagues, associates and be confident that these people will attend their shows. They must be 21 years of age or older as are their guest (as there will be alcohol available for purchase).
Time commitment: You will be asked to attend 2 rehearsals per week between the hours of 6-9:30 and one night of performing from 9pm-11pm. This is ideal for people who work full time, have the itch to perform but cant pursue performing full time. We will develop our characters, rehearse short scripts and practice improvising together. We will evolve the story we tell as time goes on.
