My latest documentary follows me and three other diverse women as we set out on a path we never imagined -- to parent solo using donor sperm. Then a two-time Academy Award nominee edited the film on a deferral because he believed so strongly in the project. Since September it has garnered interest from Showtime and been recommended for submission to Sundance but we need finishing funds to complete it and get it out into the world! To that end fundraising screenings have been happening in NYC, Atlanta, the Bay Area, Madison Wisconsin, upstate and Princeton. We've started to send the trailer/donate link to everyone we know, asking them to send it on. But I need an intern to help me strategize about using facebook, twitter and blogs to spread the net even wider and create an on-line community. I am looking for someone with great computer and writing skills, well versed in social networking and blogging and excited about the possibilities of using these new tools to advance social issue films. I belong to the social issue film collective New Day Films, newday.com. I know 60 other filmmakers all trying to make and put out their films in this difficult economic climate.
