Share | I love doing Burlesque and dancing, but am so bored with the typical Burlesque format of a bunch of strip acts with an MC introducing each. And I think Seattle audiences are also bored. I am in the process of putting together more of a variety show. Think - sexy vaudeville or cabaret show. I am keeping it fairly traditional with each act having some sort of modern twist or edge.

I would like to find a group of people that work well together and are interested in collaborating on this initial show with the hopes of getting booked as a regular cabaret somewhere in the Seattle area.

I anticipate auditions to be early November with regular rehearsals on Thursday evenings. I would like to have the show ready for Valentines Day, probably doing two initial shows on Feb 12 or 13th.

I am looking into performance spaces at the moment and where we book will mainly depend on what kind of sponsorship we can secure. Performer pay is also still to be determined. I imagine that the actors will not be paid (or paid just a nominal stipend) for the first show, with the hope that we get booked for more paying gigs after the initial performance.

I would like to keep the cast down to a minimum, so its essential that each performer have multiple talents and / or be willing to try new things. There will be several group dance numbers, so everyone should be comfortable with movement (formal dance training is helpful, though not necessary). I would also like each cast member to have some sort of unique skill / talent that can be incorporated into a feature act. For example - magic, acrobatics, comedy, aerial work, fire performance, juggling, clown, mime, music, etc.

This is a new theater troupe, so I am trying to find some new local talent interested in being involved with something from the ground up. I would also love to hear from people who would like to be involved in other off-stage capacities. Anyone that is interested should send me some info about their performance history, talents, performance interests and resume /photos if available.
